We appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Can you start by briefly introducing yourself?
My name is Valentina Cuervo, owner and resin artist of CAYA Studio, I am 23 years old and very happy to be given this opportunity to speak a bit about my work.
We're excited to have you! Your work is beautiful. What are some of your thoughts while you're creating your art?
I think the greatest part about art is the ability to disconnect and actually not think about anything. When I am in the studio creating, I usually put my music as loud as it gets and just let my creativity shine and separate my mind from any problems I might be having from the outside world. The day to day problems stay outside my studio door.
Are there moments in the action of completing a painting that you don’t feel in control?
DEFINITELY! Resin, also known as epoxy is a liquid substance that when mixed with a chemical hardener it goes through a curing process. In this process the resin can shift, bubble or never actually cure, letting us know that we never truly have complete control over our pieces. This can be very nerve wrecking but at the same time, if you learn to let go, you’ll learn to love each piece in its own way.
Wow, thank you for explaining the process! It's fascinating to learn about it. What can someone expect to see from viewing your content?
People can expect to see very glamorous and extravagant pieces, that are full of vibrant colors and crystals. People will also learn that I give resin courses as well! This has been a hit feature in my business. Allowing others to learn about what it takes to create pieces like the ones I create.
We may need to stop by for a course! You've made it sound so cool. Valentina, what are three main things you enjoy about being a business owner?
1. Choosing my own work schedule
2. Having complete control over my creativity process.
3. Knowing that my success depends on the amount of effort and work I put into my business.
Thank you for sharing a little bit about yourself and your work. Before you go, how can our readers connect with you to learn more and show support?
Readers can follow me on Instagram and TikTok (@CAYASTUDIO_) ! These are the two account I am focusing on growing! I am always uploading very fun and satisfying recordings of my work process that I know readers will like.
